MAYA & BLAKE

“The Adventure Package”

Love Story

Young Maya and Blake grew up admiring each other from afar before they even officially met

Who knew that young love and a double date would flourish into a life filled with laughter and love? The couple has been together for 12 amazing years, yet every day still feels like that one fateful day at the school oval where they first noticed each other. With friendship and empathy, these two have formed a strong relationship founded on companionship and a mutual thirst for adventure. Nobody knows Maya and Blake like they know each other, and having that person that truly knows who you are is extraordinary in a world that’s so busy, people forget to ask their loved ones, “you snacky?”

On the Day

The day that Maya and Blake were supposed to elope, the weather report looked particularly bad, so we had to move their wedding to the day before the planned date. Miraculously, all the vendors were able to pull together and make it work, which was amazing. When their wedding day finally came, we met at their Airbnb at Fern Hill for some getting-ready photos. The couple were absolutely excited and in love, helping each other to get ready. Maya pinned Blake’s buttonhole and Blake zipped up Maya’s amazing dress which had the most beautiful trailing wings on it. We then met their celebrant, Philippa Thomas, at Southern Glacier Lakes and we flew up to the beautiful Coromandel Peak.

It was such a gorgeous day for a fun and heartfelt ceremony followed by couples’ photos at the peak. After capturing precious moments for the couple, we landed back on the ground and drove to Coronet Peak. With a tartan picnic blanket laid out, the couple enjoyed a delicious lemon cake decorated with fresh fruit by Sophie Roseanna Cakes, with champagne (the perfect combo for celebrating newlyweds!)

Coming from Canberra, Australia, Maya and Blake fell in love with New Zealand. Especially with the sunset that glowed and looked glorious and illuminated everyone while they enjoyed their picnic. Absolutely in love, the couple then set off for a 1-month campervan/honeymoon trip around the country as newlyweds!
