Ashley and Justin have always had a knack for adventure…
They had been working as travel nurses for the past 8 years before they decided to settle. They travelled across the United States, exploring their home country as much as they could, before buying a house and getting engaged. After getting frustrated with the process and expense, they decided to just take a leap of faith and elope in New Zealand instead (just like their friends!)
From one adventurer to another, they definitely made the right decision with an elopement to Lake Lochnagar! 😉

On the day
Flying all the way from Louisiana, USA, Ashley and Justin got ready in separate rooms at their gorgeous two-story cottage Airbnb in Arrow Junction. While getting ready, Justin gifted Ashley a beautiful bracelet with three dog paws on them, to represent their furbabies (how cute is that!). After taking a few shots of Ashley’s dress and their picnic platter from Lavish Grazing, we whisked Justin off outside among the awesome foliage for a First Look.
We then drove to Heliworks. The day was looking a little bit iffy with rain on the ground, and we, unfortunately, couldn’t get to our first location, Lake Erskine, so we pivoted and went to Lake Lochnagar for their elopement instead. Turns out, we made the right call cause the lake looked magnificent. It was all misty and magical, with so much snow around, even the flight there was breathtaking!
The beautiful Ashley donned a crown made from green foliage, which worked so well with the location! And with our lovely celebrant Siobhain, this couple finally said I do, and we celebrated after with a picnic, a delish cake from Zest Cakes, some champagne, and a scenic walk along the shoreline.
