Raymond & Michelle
“The Adventure Package”

Love Story
Raymond and Michelle go way back…
They’ve been together for almost 17 years and have pretty much grown up side by side. Now, they’ve got the sweetest little boy, Theo and a whole lot of memories and moments that they’ll cherish forever.
When it came to planning their wedding, a big traditional day just didn’t feel authentic to them. They’re not ones for the spotlight. The idea of eloping somewhere beautiful with just the three of them felt way more personal and special.
They’re both obsessed with the snow, so Queenstown during winter was perfect. They got engaged on the ski slopes in Niseko last Valentine’s Day, with Mt Yotei in the background, so bringing that snow magic into their wedding day just made perfect sense.
These two love travelling, going on holidays together, but they still make time for simple things like chilling at home, going for walks, and soaking up every moment with Theo.
Their super relaxed elopement at Kelvin Heights was low-key, meaningful, and full of love. Just how they wanted it. After all those years together, it was the perfect way to start the next chapter.

On the day
Raymond and Michelle flew in from Sydney with their son, Theo, possibly the cutest baby we’ve ever seen! He had the fluffiest, thickest hair and the beautiful brown eyes. Their Photographer, Bri, arrived at their Airbnb tucked right on the edge of Lake Frankton, & kept bubs entertained while they finished getting ready. They’d flown over just the three of them, keeping the whole thing a surprise from their family. They were arriving the next day to join them, completely unaware that Raymond and Michelle had decided to secretly tie the knot the day before.
Once they were dressed and ready, we drove over to the lakefront at Kelvin Heights for the ceremony with the ever-lovely Sarah Noble. The lake was like glass, completely still, with this soft afternoon glow. It made for the calmest, dreamiest setting as they shared their vows surrounded by mountains and water. It was one of the calmest and relaxed elopements we captured at Kelvin Heights!
After a few quiet family photos, we made a quick stop at Jardine Park for a beautiful view back toward the Remarkables, and then we drove up the Remarkables ski field road. They were heading up there to ski the next day, so it felt extra special to be there on their wedding day. We popped a bottle of champagne, soaked in the view, and just let the moment settle in.
