Some moments are too beautiful for the ground
Flying above Queenstown’s snow covered peaks together is one of those once in a lifetime moments our couples never stop talking about.
...and it’s easy to see why.
From remote alpine landings and glacier-fed lakes to untouched mountain peaks only accessible by air, it adds a sense of adventure, intimacy, and scale that simply can’t be recreated anywhere else.
Flights can be added to any of our elopement packages, and we’ll help you choose the perfect backdrop based on the season and the feeling you’re drawn to.
Helicopter flights are arranged through us for a seamless experience, with payment made directly to Heliworks on the day of your flight.
Every flight includes a 45-minute landing at your chosen peak, flying from Queenstown in a private 6-seater helicopter just the two of you, with space for up to four passengers to share the moment. For larger groups, we’ll seamlessly arrange a 9-seater helicopter or additional flights so no one misses out, simply tell us your guest list and we’ll take care of the rest.
Click through each location below to explore galleries from both winter and the rest of the year, so you can imagine which backdrop feels most like you.
*Please note: helicopter flights are an additional add-on and are not included within our packages.
Three simple steps between you and the mountains.
The experience, simplified
This is where the dreaming starts.
Below you’ll find a guide to our most loved heli locations each with its own personality, from snow dusted alpine drama to remote glacier stillness.
If you’re still unsure, we'll help you narrow it down based on the season, the light, and the feeling you’re most drawn to.
Once your date is set, we quietly handle all the moving parts behind the scenes.
Your helicopter flight is arranged through Heliworks for a seamless experience, and payment is made directly by you on the day of your flight.
No logistics, no back-and-forth, just everything ready for you in the background.
You’ll check in at the heli base around 30 minutes before your flight.
The space is warm, relaxed, and designed for ease with comfortable seating, toilets to freshen up, and time to take it all in before you lift off.
And then it happens the doors close, the world falls away, and suddenly you’re above it all.

Here are a few simple ways to narrow it down.
Fourteen incredible options.
Tyndall Glacier offers year-round snow, while Coromandel Peak and Lake Erskine offer sweeping alpine backdrops with snow-capped peaks in the distance.
Big Geordie and Cecil Peak deliver that classic Queenstown cinematic feeling. Think wide lake horizons and mountain drama in every direction.
Cecil Peak (The Spur or The Ledge), The Remarkables, and Roundhill start from $1,770 while still delivering incredible alpine scenery.
Lake Lochnagar, Vanguard Peak, and Lake Luna feel completely untouched, quiet, vast, and like the world belongs only to you.
July–September typically offers the best chance of snow on the ground, guaranteed underfoot at The Remarkables, Lake Erksine and Cecil Peak (The Spur).
Our photo and video team’s favourites are Coromandel Peak, Lake Erskine (especially for ceremonies), and Earnslaw Burn, iconic, emotional locations that consistently create those pinch-me-is-this-real moments.
