Love Story

Love can manifest anywhere

What if I told you that the love of your life, the one you’ve been waiting for your whole life was just under your nose? Someone you’ve been in line with at the coffee shop? or in Kevin and Kat’s case, your internship rival. When fate finally stepped in and found them seated at the same bench, a conversation started, hang-outs ensued and then a dinner in Brooklyn sealed the deal. Now, even though they’re already husband and wife, they’ve decided to fly to New Zealand to celebrate not only their marriage but also their strong friendship and mutual love for adventure.

Accommodation: Jack’s Point

Ceremony: Jack’s Point

Couple’s Photos: Coromandel Peak

On the day

Coming from the U.S., Kat and Kevin flew to New Zealand to celebrate their marriage. They rented a beautiful two-story property in Jack’s Point, a special place to spend their time in Queenstown. Since they opted out of getting-ready photos, I picked them up on the day and went straight to the helicopter.

Since the spring weather was a little unpredictable, we decided to switch up the plans and went to Coromandel Peak first before having the ceremony. With a couple of clear umbrellas, we took a few photos at the peak and even though it started to rain a little bit, everything still looked magnificent. As we photographers like to say the light is always the best after a little rain. After Coromandel Peak, we drove to Jack’s Point where we met their celebrant, Ellita Thomas, and had a beautiful ceremony in the field, looking out towards The Remarkables. There were lots of laughs (Kevin’s a real joker hahaha), and the atmosphere was really light and fun that day because of the lovely couple!

This is proof that celebrating your love for each doesn’t always mean having an elaborate and grand wedding day.
